Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow was first published in 2008 with Author House. It tells of the breakdown of her fourth marriage and how she met her husband Mark. It chronicles her initial diagnosis with cancer and the surgery she underwent, her chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Susan also shares about her relationship with God, why she had stopped speaking to Him and how God showed her just how much He cared for her

In 2019 Sue's cancer returned and it was stage 4 - treatable but not curable. At that time statistics showed that only 18% of those with secondary bone metasteses would live to 5 years. That was devastating, but Sue believing in positive thinking, resolved to be one of the 18%. She set up a Facebook Page for people in a similar situation 'Buzzeos' and there are over 840 members sharing their stories and supporting each other.
In 2025 Sue decided to pull out her laptop and start writing again, a second part to her story. Wanting to share her experience of the cancer returning and providing continued hope and encouragement for those in the similar situation. She is now 6.5 years living with stage 4. She has included extracts from the Blog she started writing on hearing the news. Still titled 'HairToday, Gone Tomorrow' this new and updated edition includes both her initial diagnosis (Part 1) and in Part 2, her new journey with cancer again with her same honest and raw approach in sharing everything. It is republished by Books to Life and available on through the website.
